About
Justin Griffin
Justin was a wonderful person, a bright student and always
fun to be around. He was usually quiet until you got to
know him. He loved building computers and founded a very
successful computer business when he was just 13. He was
actively running it at the time of his death. Justin was
motivated and independent. He made his own money, bought
his own car, paid his car insurance, gas, cell phone and
kept his own checking account. He was proud to make a
real contribution to his family.
Justin was active with his youth group at Meadowbook Baptist
Church in Birmingham, Alabama and assisted with the three
year olds in Sunday school. Several months after Justin’s
death, the youth pastor at his church noticed something
different. |

The Sunday school classes had been collecting spare change
each Sunday for a children’s fund. When Justin was
alive, his class had been consistently hitting its goal
of $20 a week. After Justin’s death, the collection
dropped off to about $5 a week. This puzzled the pastor
for many weeks, until he realized that Justin had been
making up the difference out of his own pocket so his
class could meet its goal. Out of the profits of his computer
business venture, Justin had been supporting God’s
work.
Justin was especially close to his three year old niece,
Emily, and his brother Christopher. He had a quick wit
and a terrific smile that lit up his face and make you
happy to be around him. Justin’s dad, Jim, writes:
“We were blessed to have had Justin for the 16 years
that he was here on this earth. Our lives will forever
be richer for having loved him and known him as a son.
He was a very special person and will be in our hearts
forever”. |
