A Powerful Machine

Want a quick look ‘under the hood’ of this extreme machine? The JetKart features an Allied Signal JFS-100 gas turbine jet engine. At just 52 pounds, it’s a lightweight, but don’t let it fool you, this little baby is a true powerhouse!

The JFS-100 was originally used a “starter” engine on the A-7 Navy Corsair fighter jet, a carrier-based attack bomber that made its debut in 1966. The JFS-100’s free power turbine winds up to full power immediately, accelerating the main engine to idle speed, and automatically shutting down until the big jet engine needs to be started again.

JFS-100 idles at 48,000 RPM and tops out at 74,000 RPM. It’s backed by 105 pounds of thrust. The JFS-100 has been modified and customized for use in the JetKart, then specially mounted to the frame.
JetKart’s frame is a DINO-shifter racing kart manufactured in Europe. It features custom wiring, oil cooling sumps, instrumentation and instrument panel. The smoke system, modeled after those used by aerobatic aircraft was installed add to the drama and impact.
