It belches clouds thick, white smoke. It’s the
JetKart, a dynamic, turbo-powered go-kart, and it’s
one of the most extreme inventions around.
The pure power of the JetKart fascinates kids and adults
alike. That's what makes it the perfect tool to create
interest and draw crowds to events!
A
Powerful Story
The JetKart began as a shared fascination
between Jim Griffin of Birmingham, Alabama and his 15-year-old
son, Justin. The JetKart emerged after a year of hard
work, tearing up the track and quickly becoming a show-stopping
hit at local events. Though it was an incredible draw
for youths, in the winter of 2003, the Griffins put the
JetKart on the E-bay auction block.
It landed in the hands of a youth ministry volunteer from
Appleton, Wisconsin, who believed this jet-powered wonder
could be used to reach kids in a new way. Sadly, shortly
after the kart was sold, Justin died in a car accident.
Jim Griffin contacted the youth ministry volunteer and
asked if he could have the kart back. The man quickly
agreed. The JetKart was returned to Birmingham for a time,
where it provided healing therapy for Jim Griffin and
his older son as they made upgrades. Then, remembering
the volunteer's desire to use the JetKart as an outreach,
Jim Griffin offered it back.
